On Tuesday, the 25th anniversary of Michael Hutchence’s passing, Jon Stevens paid tribute to the INXS lead singer.

One year after having his only child, daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence, with his girlfriend Paula Yates, Michael committed suicide by hanging at the age of 37 in 1997.

On his Facebook page, the 61-year-old Kiwi rocker posted a number of throwback photos of Michael along with a moving message.

INXS enlisted Stevens, well-known as the lead singer of the rock band Noiseworks, in 2000 to take Hutchence’s place.

Before leaving the Never Tear Us Apart hitmakers in 2003, he spent three years touring and recording with them.

Pictures of Hutchence and INXS performing in front of a sizable crowd during their peak three decades ago were also included in Stevens’ share.

In his Facebook tribute, he concluded with the words “Love and respect, Jon.”

In 1977, INXS was founded in Sydney, and they began their career by performing in bars.

Before finally calling it quits in 2012, they went on to sell more than 80 million albums, including the hit Kick.

At around 11.50 am on November 22, 1997, a maid discovered Hutchence dead and naked behind the door of his Sydney hotel room.

The musician, 37, was determined by a coroner to have killed himself by hanging while depressed and under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Only a year earlier, he had given birth to daughter Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence, whom he had with former lover Paula Yates.

Three years later, in 2000, Paula passed away from a heroin overdose, allowing her ex-husband Bob Geldof to adopt Heavenly and raise her with her half-sisters.

Heavenly and her boyfriend Nick Allbrook, the lead singer of the psychedelic rock band Pond and a former member of Tame Impala, moved to Perth, Western Australia, in 2017. They started dating in 2017.

Michael juggled relationships with celebrities like pop singer Kylie Minogue and supermodel Helena Christensen before getting involved with Paula.
