Leslie Jordan, a comedian and actor from the US, has away at the age of 67, his agent announced.

The actor was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles on Monday morning, according to US media. He was best known for his roles on Will and Grace and American Horror Story.

According to police, Jordan was pronounced deceased at the scene after his automobile slammed into the side of a building.

His publicist claimed that since his passing, the world had grown "darker."

It was unclear, the officers said, if Jordan perished in the accident.

Jordan was en route to the Warner Bros. studio set of the Fox television series, according to his agent Don LeClair, who spoke to Reuters.

Jordan portrayed Phil, Kat's cafe's head baker, in the programme that was inspired on the popular British sitcom Miranda.

According to Variety, work on series three has now been put on hold.

He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1955, and revealed to his mother that he was gay when he was 12 years old.

His notoriety increased while playing Beverley Leslie in the American sitcom Will and Grace.
